Irises

My irises have exploded. So happy to see them again.

After a Week, the eggs have hatched

Thousands of tadpoles have hatched in just a week!

Along with the 1/4" tadpoles are 1.5" long slender blue dragonflies. The pond is amazing!

Another big green frog floats on the surface.
The branches create an abstract composition.I need to keep the image in my mind!

Froggy Monday

Charisma and I walked to the pond again, our daily ritual. The frog chorus was full. You could hear hundreds of different voices and a few bullfrogs interspersed. Charisma almost pulled me into the water, when a frog splashed !
One green frog floating.

A leopard frog, I believe.

Three pairs of frogs, mating. Look closely at the black sqiggly lines in the water. If you zoom in, the lines are dotted. Eggs!!!!!!

Another shot.

Pink.

My Brittany pointing!

Look ahead, there is the duck in the water....

Saturday Photos at the Pond

We witnessed a cormorant swim, dive twice, then catch a fish (amazing) and swallow it.

He stretched his neck, the fish bulged in his throat. I am so glad I had my camera. I wish I had started shooting earlier. I didn't really know what the bird was until I zoomed in on my computer!

The cormorant's beak was distinctive.

And his wings.....

Mallard. So close.

Turtles on a log.

And an out of focus Green Heron. I thought it was a sandpiper until I looked closer. It is so hard to see what you have shot on the monitor, in the sun!
